Hogs compete at USAs

FAYETTEVILLE – Select current and former members of the Arkansas Razorback men’s track and field team competed at the USA Championships, in Des Moines, Iowa, on Friday.

Freshman Caleb Cross competed in the prelims of the junior 400-meter hurdles. He finished ninth overall and was the first runner left out of the finals. He clocked a time of 54.10, a personal best by more than one second. Freshman Travis Southard also competed in the prelims of the 400-meter hurdles. He finished 17th overall with a time of 56.07.

Former Razorback Jeremy Scott finished fourth in the pole vault with a clearance of 17-6.5. Former Razorback Nkosinza Balumbu finished fifth in the triple jump with a leap of 54-2.5. Former Razorback Wallace Spearmon, Jr., finished fourth in the finals of 100 meters with a time of 10.30. He advanced to the finals after finishing sixth in the semifinals with a time of 10.43.

Competition for the Razorbacks will resume at 2:26 p.m. on Saturday.
