FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – In its last meet of the fall, the University of Arkansas swimming and diving squad will send four divers and three swimmers to the Mizzou Invite this weekend in Columbia, Mo. to take on competitors from Missouri, Missouri University of Science and Technology, Iowa, Drury, Southern Illinois, Missouri State and Kansas. The divers are led by senior Madison Palmer who has already qualified for the Zone Diving Championships in both the one-meter and three-meter dives. Her scores of 296.80 in the one-meter and 309.75 in the three-meter lead the team, and she has also picked up three first place scores so far this season.
Fellow senior Kellyn Williams is off to a strong start too, scoring a personal best 260.85in the one-meter dive against LSU. Williams’ third place finishes against LSU in both the one-meter and three-meter events helped push the Razorbacks to victory, edging the Tigers 151-149.
Also making the trip are freshmen divers Alex Roman and Liana Bugslag who will be competing in their fourth meet as Razorbacks.
The trio of Maddie Fogel, Sarah Rowland, and Gina Bargiachi will take to the pool for Arkansas, completing the contingent of Razorbacks traveling to Columbia.
Both swimming and diving preliminaries begin Friday at 10 a.m. at the Mizzou Aquatics Center on the University of Missouri campus with finals held each day following the prelim events. The Mizzou Invite runs through Sunday.
