Hogs head to Tulsa to take on ORU

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The No. 69 University of Arkansas men’s tennis team will face Oral Roberts for the second time this season on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.

The match-up against the Golden Eagles will take place on the University of Tulsa campus. A neutral site could make the match more competitive than their first meeting.

The Razorbacks hosted Oral Roberts almost two weeks ago at the Billingsley Tennis Center. In the meeting, the Hogs did not drop a set and swept the Golden Eagles, 7-0. Oral Roberts has only played one match since that meeting. They fell to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, 6-1.

The Hogs played two tight matches last week, but came up short. The Hogs faced Alabama on Friday. After clinching the doubles point, Chris Nott and Mike Ward both gathered singles wins, but the Hogs fell in the end, 4-3. On Sunday, the Hogs matched up against Auburn for the final home match of the season. After a strong showing on Senior Day, the Razorbacks fell 5-2. Seniors Nott, Matt Hogan and Nick Spinazze were recognized. Ward got his second singles win of the weekend and Nikolas Zogaj came away with a victory as well.

Following the match against the Golden Eagles, the Razorbacks return to conference play and travel first to Kentucky on Friday, and then to Vanderbilt on Sunday. Kentucky’s match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m., and the match against Vanderbilt will begin at Noon. For more information on the Razorback tennis team, log on to www.ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
