Hogs help negotiate TV coverage in Tulsa

FAYETTEVILLE – Razorback fans in Tulsa, Okla.,can watch the Hogs take on the Ole Miss Rebels this weekend on the SEC Network thanks to an affiliate partnership with KGEB-TV. The independent station serves Tulsa and surrounding communities and can be seen over the air via channel 53 with primary cable coverage on Cox channel 23."We made it a priority to work with our partners at ESPN to bring SEC Network coverage to Tulsa," Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Jeff Long said. "We have a tremendous fan base in the Tulsa area and our program will benefit from the enhanced exposure. We appreciate Walter Richardson, the general manager of KGEB, for working with us and ESPN to help insure television coverage of the Razorbacks and other SEC programming is available to our fans in Oklahoma."KGEB is airing the SEC Network’s entire 13-game football schedule this season. The station will also carry nine SEC Network men’s basketball games Saturday doubleheaders including five games involving the University of Arkansas. "KGEB is excited to team up with the SEC Network to carry some outstanding college football and basketball programming," KGEB General Manager Walter Richardson said. "Our viewer response thus far has been excellent and we are looking forward to our continued coverage. This weekend we are looking forward to featuring the Razorbacks for the first time as part of the network package. We know there are many Razorback fans throughout the region and are proud that they now have an opportunity to follow their team and the rest of the SEC each week in our area." Earlier this month, the University of Arkansas, Razorback Sports Properties and Cox Sports Television announced the addition of Cox Sports Television (CST) to the cable lineups in Tulsa and Oklahoma City. CST’s year-round coverage of the Razorbacks includes 28 events, including football, men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, track and field, volleyball, softball and the annual red-white spring football game. Each Tuesday at 7 p.m. during the football regular season, CST shows a full game replay of the prior week’s game.
