FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The weekend the No. 70-ranked Razorback tennis team will kick off its spring season at the Auburn Quad and compete in three days of matches against individuals from Mississippi State, Auburn and Army.
"We are looking forward to going to Auburn this weekend," said head coach Robert Cox. "We get to play a lot of tennis and we get to work on our team chemistry and getting into the flow of a match."
The Hog’s first day will be individual matches on Friday at 8:30 a.m. against the No. 41 Bulldogs of Mississippi State. On Saturday at 2 p.m., the Razorbacks will then face the Auburn Tigers, who are ranked No. 31. Lastly, they will encounter Army on Sunday at 2 p.m.
The Hogs will play approximately 36 individual singles and doubles matches over the weekend.
The team spent its break preparing for their tough spring schedule ahead.
"We’ve had several practices in the past week, we are doing well and everyone came back healthy," said Cox. "Several of the young men played in tournaments over the break and were successful, so we are very pleased."
