FAYETTEVILLE, Ark.- The No. 13 ranked Arkansas men’s golf team is gearing up for the spring season with recognition as one of Golfweek’s pre-season teams to watch. Head coach Brad McMakin and his Razorbacks are featured in the February 7th edition of Golfweek.
“It is great to be listed at No. 13 in Golfweek’s preseason Top 30. At the beginning of the fall season, we had not yet broken into the list, so it is nice for our team to be acknowledged in that way,” McMakin said of the nod.
McMakin and his team have shown themselves to be fierce competitors, with wins in the fall at the Maryland Collegiate Invitational and Notre Dame Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic. Other highlights from the season include standout performances by freshman Ethan Tracy who set a course record in his first collegiate appearance, Andrew Landry and David Lingmerth both with three Top 10 finishes in the fall.
The Razorbacks will return to the course on February 22 at the John A. Burns Intercollegiate held at Schofield Barracks in O’ahu. Watch the 2009 men’s golf season unfold on ArkansasRazorbacks.com
