Hogs return home for doubleheader

FAYETTEVILLE- The No. 53 Arkansas men’s tennis team will play host to UMKC and Johnson County C.C. on Saturday at the Dills Indoor Tennis Center in Fayetteville. The matchup against the Kangaroos is scheduled for noon, immediately followed by a face off against the Cavaliers at 5 p.m. Arkansas is on a two match-winning streak after defeating Oregon and Cal Poly on the road.

"We are coming off a very strong road trip and I am very pleased with the team’s performance," head coach Robert Cox said. "This weekend we will play two non-conference matches at home that should help sharpen our skills and and prepare us for conference play next week against South Carolina and Florida."

On the season, No. 62 Christopher Nott leads the Hogs with 14 wins for the season and a 7-2 dual match record. Super freshman Gregoire Lehmann joined the Razorbacks mid-season continues to prove a major weapon for the Hogs with a 7-2 record, playing mostly at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions.

"Top of our lineup played well, Chris Nott spearheaded the team in singles," Cox said. "We proved we can be successful on the road."

Arkansas picked up their seventh doubles point of the season with a win over Cal Poly last weekend, falling only to No. 4 Texas and No. 26 Oklahoma. At the top of the doubles lineup, No. 29 Dmitry Lebedev and Nott continue to be unstoppable boasting a 9-1 dual match record.

Arkansas leads the all-time series over the UMKC Kangaroos, 2-0. The last time the two teams met the Hogs won each of their three doubles matches and all six singles matches, not dropping a set.
