Hogwired.com Players of the Week Selected

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Casey Dick, Marcus Harrison and Wendel Davis have been named the Hogwired.com players of the week for their performances Saturday in the Razorbacks’ 44-8 victory over Ole Miss.

Against the Rebels, Dick was 11-for-17 for 96 yards and three touchdowns. The touchdown total equals his career high which he has done three other times, including three touchdowns against Ole Miss in 2005. Dick completed his first seven passes of the game and dating back to the Hogs’ last visit to Oxford in 2005, the junior quarterback had completed 19 straight passes in Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

Dick spread the ball to six different receivers. He threw two touchdowns to tight end Andrew Davie, and one to fullback Peyton Hillis. On the season, the signal caller has 943 passing yards and 11 touchdowns.

On defense, Harrison racked up 11 total tackles for the Hogs against Ole Miss. Seven of his 11 stops were solo tackles, including two tackles for loss (-4 yards). Harrison sacked Ole Miss quarterback Seth Adams for a loss of three in the second quarter. He also earned a pass break up.

The senior defensive tackle led all UA defensive lineman in tackles, tackles for loss and sacks against the Rebels. Harrison was part of a Razorback defense that allowed only eight points, nabbed four interceptions and registered six quarterback sacks. Arkansas ranks second in the nation in pass efficiency defense.

Davis totaled four tackles in special teams’ play against Ole Miss. Three of his four tackles were solo stops. The sophomore linebacker is second among Razorbacks with 13 special teams tackles this season.

Following each game this season, Hogwired.com will recognize an offensive, defensive and special teams player of the week. Recipients are chosen by the UA football coaching staff.
