Entering this weekend’s series, Arkansas and Kentucky (27-4, 5-1 SEC) have played 49 times with the Razorbacks owning a 30-19 advantage in the all-time series. Arkansas has won 16 of 24 games played in Fayetteville while the two teams have split the eight games played at Bogle Park. The teams did not play last season but in the last meeting in 2014, then-freshman Grace Moll tallied a complete-game shutout victory in Lexington.

During the three-game set, the Razorbacks will be looking for their first SEC win of the year and second over a ranked opponent. Last weekend at the Easton Tournament in Fullerton, Calif., Arkansas posted an 11-10 win over No. 23 Nebraska for the program’s first victory over a ranked non-conference opponent since the 2012 campaign. The upset win also marked the 20th career victory for Moll in the circle.

With her three-run shot in the fourth inning against Nebraska, freshman Ashley Diaz hit her team-leading 10th home run and became the eighth player and second freshman in program history to reach double digits in a single season. She joins 2012 SEC Freshman of the Year Devon Wallace on that list of standout newcomers. Diaz enters the weekend five homers shy of the program’s single-season record currently shared by Wallace and Jessica Bachkora.

For the sixth time this season, Arkansas hit three home runs in a game during its win over the Huskers. The trio of big flies were hit by Diaz, Rachel Box and Shelby Hiers. Diaz has been involved in five of the six three-home run performances. At the halfway point of the season, Arkansas is fourth in the SEC with 35 home runs through its first 29 games.
