FAYETTEVILLE – A season-high nine three-pointers and a shooting a blazing 50 percent have the Razorbacks firmly ahead of the Ole Miss Rebels after the first half, 56-34.
The Senior Night celebrations put Mardracus Wade in the right spirit, as he came out with the first five Razorback points of the half, finishing with 9 on 2-of-4 from downtown. The senior class has combined for 21 points and five boards through the first 20 minutes.
Sophomore Anthlon Bell has the hot hand for the Hogs, knocking down 14 points in the first half on 5-of-7 from the floor. Bell’s 14 points equals the career high against Ole Miss among active Razorbacks, previously set by Wade.
The Rebels are no match for the #Fastest40, giving up 10 turnovers for 16 Arkansas points. The Razorbacks’ seven steals are a first half high for the 2013-14 season. Senior Marshall Henderson has been noticeably absent from downtown, only 1-of-7 in 15 minutes on the hardwood.
The Arkansas bench continued their reign of terror, carrying a 36-5 edge into the second half. The 56 point effort is good enough for second best in 2013-14, falling just shy of the 62 points put up against UTSA.
