Hudson Set For NCAA Singles Championship

ATHENS, Ga. – Arkansas senior co-captain Shannon Hudson will compete in the NCAA singles championship, held May 24-29 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the University of Georgia campus.

Originally scheduled for 5 p.m. CT Wednesday, Hudson’s first-round match against No. 38 Caroline Doyle of Stanford will be played at 4 p.m. CT Wednesday.

A second-team All-SEC honoree and the program’s 15th all-time NCAA singles championship selection, Hudson is ranked No. 45 nationally in singles and No. 40 in doubles with partner Giulia Pairone. A two-time SEC Player of the Week this season, Hudson turned in 16 overall singles victories this spring, including 11 at the No. 1 spot and five against nationally ranked opponents. She delivered five match-clinching victories, with three coming in SEC play. She also posted 15 overall doubles wins, including 13 this spring, nine at the top spot and two against ranked competition.
