FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Feeling right at home, Shannon Hudson earned her second singles victory of the Arkansas women’s tennis fall season on Saturday, as the Virginia Beach, Va., native advanced to her flight final at the William & Mary Tribe Invitational.
With select Razorbacks competing at the tournament held in Williamsburg, Va., Hudson continued her impressive debut weekend of collegiate tennis, as the freshman won again by battling it out and defeating Wake Forest’s Andrea Retolaza Andrade, 6-3, 5-7, 7-5.
"Today was a high quality day of tennis here," head coach Michael Hegarty said of the William & Mary Tribe Invitational. "All matches were close and Shannon’s three and a half hour battle was a great example of toughness and quality coming through in the end. It will be fun for her to play for a tournament title tomorrow."
Hudson advances to play against Bridget Folland of USC in the final of the Julie Shiflet Flight on Sunday.
