Jackson Invited To USA Trials

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas junior-to-be Jessica Jackson has been invited to the 2015 USA Basketball Women’s Pan American Games and World University Games Team Trials it was announced this week.

The Jacksonville, Ark., native travels to the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo., May 14-17, for the tryouts.

Trials will be used to determine the rosters for the 2015 U.S. Pan American Women’s Basketball Team and the 2015 USA Women’s World University Games Team. The 12 members of each squad, or finalists for each team, will be announced on the morning of May 17.

Players eligible for the 2015 U.S. Pan American Games and USA World University Games teams must be U.S. citizens who currently are enrolled as full-time college students with remaining eligibility for the 2015-16 school year.

Jackson is a two-time All-SEC Second-Team selection and led Arkansas and the Southeastern Conference in scoring as a sophomore in 2014-15.  Jackson ranked 16th in all games in rebounding, sixth in free throw percentage, fifth in three-pointers made, 13th in defensive rebounds and sixth in the league in minutes played last year.

As a sophomore, Jackson scored in double figures in 26 of Arkansas’ 32 games including the final 12 contests of the season.  She scored 20 or more points in five games and had five double-doubles.

Jackson is among the 54 student-athletes selected to participate in this year’s trails.  Sixteen of the invitees have won at least one gold medal in their careers.
