Jackson Paces Lady'Backs at Auburn

AUBURN, Ala.-University of Arkansas freshman Summer Jackson led the Lady Razorback swimming and diving team against Auburn and Florida State in Auburn, Ala., Saturday, Jan. 28.

Jackson won the 50 free with a season-best time of 23.81 in the event against the Seminoles. In the 100 free, Jackson took second versus Florida State.

Arkansas swimming head coach Anne Goodman James said she was pleased with Jackson’s performance despite the Lady’Backs falling to Auburn, 149-69, and Florida State, 180-56.

“She (Jackson) is beginning to get some speed and is right on track for her taper for SEC’s,” she said. “In general, we were a bit off our game today.”

Redshirt freshman Madison Palmer and sophomore Hilarie Wilson scored for the Lady’Backs in the diving events in the absence of sophomore Brieanne Kushner, who is competing in the Canadian Senior National Diving Champion, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Palmer recorded a pair of second-place finishes against Florida State with Wilson taking third on the one-meter springboard.
