FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas is proud to announce Tammy Jackson, in memory of the late Razorback linebacker Larry Jackson, as the A Club Razorback honorary captain for Saturday’s football game vs. ULM.
The Razorbacks play ULM at 6 p.m. at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.
The University of Arkansas Athletic Department and the Razorback Foundation A Club is presenting an honorary captain for each home game this season. Each honorary captain will be honored prior to the game on the field, recognized on the RazorVision and accompany the Razorback captains to midfield for the coin toss.
Larry Jackson lettered for the Razorbacks from 1976-78 and was an All-Southwest Conference linebacker in 1977 and 1978. His 309 career total tackles rank 12th on Arkansas’ all-time list.
UA compiled a record of 25-8-2 with Jackson on the field. In 1977, he helped lead the Razorbacks to an 11-1 record, including a 31-6 win over No. 2 Oklahoma in the 1978 Sugar Bowl. During the 1978 season, as a co-captain, Jackson helped lead Arkansas to a 9-2-1 mark and a Fiesta Bowl appearance.
Jackson was named to Arkansas’ All-Decade team for the 1970s following his career.
