James Ewing Named Freshman All-American by Collegiate Baseball

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas freshman second baseman James Ewing was named to Collegiate Baseball’s Freshmen All-America team on Thursday.

Ewing, a Beaumont, Texas, native hit .366 with 12 doubles and 22 RBI in his rookie campaign for the Razorbacks. He posted a team-high .439 on-base percentage and stole two bases.

James is joined on Collegiate Baseball’s Freshmen All-America team by his twin brother, Michael, who plays first base for Southern Mississippi.

Ewing is the fifth Razorback in the last three seasons to be named to Collegiate Baseball’s Freshmen All-America team. Danny Hamblin and Jake Dugger were selected to the 2004 team while Nick Schmidt and Shaun Seibert were honored in 2005.
