Season’s Greetings from the Razorbacks:
As you and your family enjoy your Christmas Day, I wanted to take an opportunity to thank each of you for your continued support of our more than 460 Razorback student-athletes. The past year has brought many accomplishments in the classroom, on the fields of competition and in the community.
From a program best top-20 finish in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup to our recent ranking as the No. 10 most valuable college football program, Razorback Athletics has established itself as one of the premiere all-sports programs in the nation. Student-athletes continued to achieve in the classroom with more than 80 current or former Razorbacks adding their names to senior walk in the last calendar year.
But being a student-athlete at the University of Arkansas is more than just accomplishing your goals as a student-athlete and a team, it is about embracing the responsibility and opportunity you have as a Razorback to make a positive impact on those around you, especially children. I am so proud of what the young men and women in our program are doing to make a meaningful difference. I encourage you to click here to read about just some of the many ways Razorback student-athletes are reaching out to those in our community during the holidays.
All of these tremendous accomplishments would not be possible without the teamwork of many. To our student-athletes, coaches and staff, I say thank you for your dedicated efforts. Also thank you to our talented campus faculty and staff who have helped make the University of Arkansas one of the fastest growing institutions in the nation in enrollment and academic reputation.
And to our loyal Razorback Foundation members and fans, a special thank you. The past year clearly demonstrated how much the Razorback program continues to mean to those all around the state. The passion of Razorback fans is unrivaled. In 2012, you celebrated our many successes and rallied behind our student-athletes through some challenging times.
So as we get set to enter the New Year, I want to take one final opportunity to thank the Razorback Nation for their support. You are helping us meet our mission of developing student-athletes through their fullest potential through intercollegiate athletics.
Happy Holidays and Go Hogs!!
