FAYETTEVILLE — Doubles pair Manfred Jeske and Mike Nott will compete at the 2013 ITA All-American Championship on Thursday in Tulsa, Okla.
Jeske and Nott, both seniors, were ranked No. 9 in the ITA preseason poll and earned an automatic berth into the main draw of the tournament. The pair will begin competition Thursday at 5 p.m. with a match against Diogo Casa and Yannick Junger of Texas-San Antonio.
The duo played at the No. 1 spot for most of the 2012-13 season, qualifying for the NCAA Tournament in the spring. The pair advanced to the Round of 16 before falling to the No. 3 seed. Nott and Jeske were the first doubles pair from Arkansas to qualify for the tournament since 2009.
“By being preseason Top 10 in doubles, Mike and Manny have earned a valuable opportunity as it puts them in the main draw of the ITA All-American Championship,” head coach Andy Jackson said. “From what I have seen, they can compete with anyone in the NCAA on the doubles court.”
