FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –John McDonnell, the most successful coach in college sports history, invites you to join the Razorback Track and Field Staff for a championship camp experience this summer. Assisting Coach McDonnell will be Assistant Coaches Dick Booth, Doug Williamson, and Danny Green, along with prominent high school coaches from around the nation!
The camp utilizes some of the finest facilities in the nation with the use of the University of Arkansas’ Indoor and Outdoor track and field complexes. The outdoor track and field complex was the site of the 1994 SEC Championships and annually plays host to the John McDonnell Invitational. The track has multi-directional sprint lanes, four multi-directional runways for jumping, two throwing circles and four pole vault runways along with an oversized high jump apron that accommodates two high jump pits. Unlike most camps, we will also be able to utilize the Randal Tyson Indoor Track Center. In case of rain, we will be able to use this championship facility which has hosted the NCAA Indoor Championships for the past three years.
Distance Camp will take place August 1-4. This is a cross country and/or distance camp, distance runners, whether beginner or expert, novice joggers or world class road racer will benefit from the instruction of this camp. This camp is designed to provide distance runners with a unique combination of classroom and field instruction, stimulating trainging sessions and fun.
Track and Field Camp will take place June 9-12. This camp is designed for athletes to learn proper mechanics as well as winning techniques. Participants are advised to select one area to concentrate on during the camp. All athletes will receive both classroom adn field instruction. The staff will teach, demonstrate, and help give you the expertise to move to a new level of excellence.
