Kalmer improves at Mt. SAC Relays

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Arkansas Razorback women’s track and field team saw many of its distance runners compete at the Mt. SAC Relays and the John McDonnell Invitational Friday.

Senior Christine Kalmer improved her regional time in the 5,000 meters at Mt. SAC. She clocked a time of 16:30.92 to finish 26th overall and sixth among collegiate competitors. Her time ranks fifth in the SEC.

Sophomore Jillian Rosen finished 18th overall and ninth among collegians in the 1,500 meters. She clocked a 4:24.67, just off her career best. Freshman Samantha Learch finished 10th in her heat and 18th overall in the 1,500 meters. She clocked a personal-best time of 4:30.76.

In Fayetteville, at the John McDonnell Invitational, junior Angie Scott marked a toss of 145-10 in the hammer throw. Junior Ashley Williams finished eighth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:03.00. Williams’ mark is a personal best by nearly 20 seconds.

The John McDonnell Invitational will continue Saturday with field events beginning at 9:30 a.m., running events at 12 p.m. and running finals at 6 p.m. For more information and complete results, visit ArkansasRazorbacks.com.
