FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Sophomore Dallas Keuchel was named the Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon after his brilliant start on Sunday secured a series sweep of #13 South Carolina at Baum Stadium.
Keuchel tossed eight innings of five hit baseball and struck out a career-high 10 Gamecock batters to earn his fourth win of the season. Leaving the game with one runner on in the top of the ninth inning, Keuchel’s final line would read eight innings pitched, one earned run, two walks and 10 strikeouts.
Since entering Arkansas’ weekend rotation, Keuchel has earned a 3-1 record in seven starts and in four starts has worked through seven innings. For the season, Keuchel is 4-2 with a 3.97 earned run average over 65.2 innings pitched. He has struck out 52 while waking 25.
