Kickers Save the Day at Third Practice
BY ANDRES FOCIL
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The third day of full squad practice ended with a spirited competition between kickers Brennan O’Donohoe and David Carlton as each connected on field goals that prevented the Razorbacks from running conditioning drills following their two-hour afternoon workout.
“We had some kickers really come through today,” Arkansas head coach Houston Nutt said. “We put them on the spot. If Brennan O’Donohoe was five for five from the 25-yard line, we don’t run. He’s five for five, so he’s a hero right now. And David Carlton came up and was four for five. So the guys didn’t have to run.”
The unseasonably cool weather Saturday provided a welcome relief from the stifling mid-August temperatures as the Hogs put forth extra effort on the field. The Razorbacks continue to work on putting the entire offensive package together during two-a-days.
