Kimmitt joins Arkansas swimming and diving

FAYETTEVILLE – Brittany Kimmitt signed a National Letter of Intent to swim for the University of Arkansas, Lady Razorback head coach Jeff Poppell recently announced. Kimmitt, a breaststroke and individual medley specialist from Germantown, Wis., is a graduate of Germantown High School and was a member of the Elmbrook Swim Club. A four-time all-state honorable mention selection and conference swimmer of the year her senior year, Kimmitt broke the 100 breaststroke record at her high school and tied the 200 IM record. In addition, Kimmitt earned her team’s most valuable player award three of her four years and was a hall of fame inductee. Kimmitt also swam in the junior and senior nationals. “We are thrilled to have Brittany joining us next year as she will make an immediate impact in the breaststroke events,” said head coach Jeff Poppell. “A Wisconsin state champion in the 100 breast and a competitor at the recent U.S. Spring National Championships, Brittany has the ability as a freshman to score points for us at the Southeastern Conference Championships next year.” Kimmitt is the daughter of Kevin and Lora Kimmitt of Germantown, Wis., and has a younger brother, Sean. She chose the University of Arkansas because of the swimming coaches, the beautiful campus and the nice surroundings.
