Kushner Ends Season with Finals Appearance

COLUMBIA, Mo.,- University of Arkansas sophomore diver Brieanne Kushner finished 11th on the three-meter springboard at the NCAA Zone ‘D’ Diving Championship, Saturday, March 11, in Columbia, Mo.

For the second consecutive day, Kushner made the finals but missed qualifying for the NCAA Championships since she wasn’t in the top six.

Redshirt freshman Madison Palmer also represented the Lady Razorbacks at zones but failed to make the finals in the event.

Arkansas diving coach Scott Reich said he was pleased with the duo’s performance and understands that the Lady’Backs are young.

“She (Kushner) was pretty good,” he said. “She just needs to keep improving, which is happening. For Madison it was the same thing as on the one meter, five of her six dives were good enough to make the finals. She’s a freshman and I’m encouraged about her future. I think this motivated them for next year.”
