Lady?Back Vaulters Find Regional Marks at Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas – Arkansas Lady Razorback track and field concluded competition at the 81st Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays on Saturday. The Lady’Backs collected eight regional-qualifying marks and an NCAA provisional-qualifying mark during their stay in Austin.

In the women’s pole vault, Sarah Landau, Katie Stripling and Tara Diebold cleared the regional-qualifying mark of 12-7.5. The trio tied for eighth place in the university "A" flight. The clearances are the first for Stripling and Diebold this season. Landau cleared 13-1.5 at the Louisiana Classics two weeks ago.

Arkansas’ relays qualified for the finals in both the 4×100-meter and the 4×400-meter relays. The Lady’Backs opted not to compete in the 4×100-meter relay in order to concentrate on the longer relay. However, the meet schedule fell behind and the Lady’Backs were unable to compete in the 4×400-meter relay because of travel arrangements.

At the Stanford Invitational, Tiffany Redlarczyk and Caroline Peyton clocked regional-qualifying times in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Redlarczyk finished fifth with a clocking of 10:38.44 while Peyton placed 10th with a time of 10:46.71.

Dacia Barr finished sixth in her heat and sixth overall in the 1,500 meters. She clocked a regional-qualifying time of 4:20.27. Her time currently ranks second in the SEC.

The Lady’Backs will compete next at the John Jacobs Invitational, in Norman, Okla., April 11-12. For complete details of Lady’Back track and field, visit www.ladybacks.com.
