Lady?Backs Surge at Cardinal Invitational

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Arkansas Lady Razorback track and field found three improved regional-qualifying marks at the Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford on Sunday.

Dacia Barr clocked the nation’s fastest time in the 1,500 meters this year. She finished fourth of the 15 harriers and was the top collegian to cross the line.

Her time, 4:13.77, is the third best in school history and improves her existing regional-qualifying mark by nearly seven seconds. She also set a personal best and now leads the SEC and the Mideast Region.

Also at Stanford, Christine Kalmer and Catherine White improved their 5K regional-qualifying times and personal bests with clockings of 16:13.28 and 16:14.93, respectively.

Kalmer finished second in the running group of 21. Her time ranks ninth in the nation, third in the Mideast Region and second in the SEC. White finished third and ranks 10th in the nation, fourth in the Mideast Region and third in the conference.
