Lady'Back cross country guide takes second in the nation

FAYETTEVILLE – The 2006 University of Arkansas Lady Razorback cross country media guide was awarded the distinction of being the second best in the nation by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) it was announced at the organization’s annual convention.

The media guide was written and designed by Assistant Communications Director Phil Pierce with assistance by Associate Athletic Director and Communications Director Dr. Bill Smith. Cover of the book featured Arkansas’ sophomore class and was titled “The New Wave.”

“We are very excited to see our publications earn another media guide award,” Arkansas head coach Lance Harter said. “We are proud to distribute these books since they represent the best of Arkansas cross country and the University of Arkansas. To have a media guide that can complement our team the way this does is certainly a benefit to getting the word out about our program.”

The COSIDA publication award is another in a long line of success by the Lady Razorback women’s communications office. In 2005 the media guide also took second in the nation with the 2003 media guide earning a third-place honor and taking the Universities’ second best cover in the nation honor. Over the years the Lady Razorback cross country book has earned seven best in the nation honors, five second in the nation and four third in the nation awards.
