FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas women’s golf team was supposed to continue its second round play today at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic in Austin, Texas, Tuesday, but heavy rains postponed the action.
Arkansas sophomore Corinna Rees was in the first group scheduled to tee off Tuesday. Her round was pushed back by tournament officials late Monday as they delayed the 8:30 a.m. start to 11:30 a.m. Rees and her group teed off when the horn sounded and the golf course was cleared. Play was again delayed with the hopes of getting in a shotgun start around 1:00 p.m., but weather conditions forced the cancellation of the second round.
The 18-team field hopes to resume play for a final round with a shotgun start Wednesday morning.
