Jump to results FAYETTEVILLE — The 25th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team is in 10th place after two rounds of action at the UCF Invitational in Grand Cypress, Fla., Monday. Arkansas, playing in its second spring event, carded back-to-back 312s for a 624 and 10th place in the talented 13-team field. "Well, of course, we’re disappointed," said assistant coach Shauna Estes. "We’re a much better golf team than we showed today. This is a hard golf course but we struggled more than we should of. We would hit one bad shot and get completely taken out of our rhythm. We need to hit one shot at a time and not worry about what’s behind us." Arkansas could not have been more consistent from round to round Monday. Arkansas posted back-to-back 324s, as three Lady’Backs had the same scores in both rounds. Senior Stacy Lewis paced Arkansas and is tied for 24th overall with a 153 (76-77). Freshman Alex Schulte was tied for 37th after the first day with a 156 (78-78), followed by sophomore Lucy Nunn with is tied for 40th with a 157 (79-78). Newcomer freshman Kristin Ingram is tied for 44th with a 158 (79-79) and junior Whitney Sylvan rounded out the Arkansas players in 70th with a 170 (85-85). "We seemed to have a couple players who struggled just in spots," said Estes. "Stacy played her final nine at two under but had three bad holes early in the second round." Fourth-ranked Duke blistered the field and is the lone team under par on the par 72, 6,223-yard Grand Cypress course. The Blue Devils were four-under with a 573 (289-284) to lead the field. Third-ranked Pepperdine was second with a plus-10 594 (296-298), followed by No. 1 Georgia (595), No. 6 Vanderbilt (600), No. 23 LSU (612), No. 15 Florida (614), No. 14 New Mexico (617), No. 17 Purdue (617) and No. 31 Alabama (622).
