Lady'Backs fall to Ole Miss

Jump to Ole Miss box FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas volleyball team dropped their Southeastern Conference opener to Ole Miss, 3-0, in Barnhill Arena Friday. Arkansas (6-5, 0-1 SEC) fell 14-30, 26-30, 22-30 to Ole Miss (11-2, 1-1 SEC). The Lady Razorbacks host No. 24 LSU Sunday at 1:30 p.m., in Barnhill. “We really haven’t played well the last two weeks,” said Arkansas head coach Chris Poole. “It’s very disappointing. I guess the coaching staff is going to have to do a better job of getting the team up. You have to be ready and prepared for every match and we weren’t tonight.” Arkansas struggled all night hitting just .132 for the match. Sophomore Kristin Seaton had a team-best 11 kills and hit .300 as one of the bright spots for the match. Senior Jessica Dorrell added nine kills and freshman Heather Royal added seven for Arkansas. The Lady’Backs out-blocked Ole Miss six to five but the Lady Rebels hit .327 with three players in double figures. Arkansas had its best opportunity in the second game leading 19-10 but Ole Miss scratched its way back tying the game at 23. The outscored Arkansas 7-3 to win the game.
