Lady'Backs Host Mississippi in Home Finale

FAYETTEVILLE-The University of Arkansas softball team hosts its final home series of the season when Mississippi travels to Fayetteville for a doubleheader Tuesday, May 3, at 5 p.m. The series concludes Wednesday, May 4, at 5 p.m.

The Lady Razorbacks lead the all-time series with Ole Miss 22-6 but Arkansas won only one game in Oxford, Miss., last season.

Arkansas softball head coach Jamie Pinkerton said the goal for his team is to improve in the last home stand of the season.

“We are going to try to get better,” Pinkerton said. “What I want is for us to continue to play solid softball. Defensively, we’ve played pretty well all season long and offensively I’ve been really happy the last month.”

The Lady’Backs leader at the plate is sophomore outfielder Rachel LeMaster, who has a team-high .388 batting average and 71 hits.
