Lady Razorback junior Stacy Lewis rallied carding a second-day one-under 71 on the par-72 Legends Course. Lewis, a Woodlands, Texas, native, is tied for 27th overall at 147 (76-71). “Stacy was inside of 15 feet 10 times today and just couldn’t convert or her round would have been even better,” said Arkansas head coach Kelley Hester. “Stacy just had one of those days but she had a solid round and did a good job of leading us today.” Freshman Alexandrea Schulte checks in tied for 45th overall with a 151 (73-78), followed by sophomore Lucy Nunn who is tied for 55th with a 154 (74-80). Junior Ashley Medders is tied for 70th overall with a 159 (77-82) while junior Whitney Sylvan (84-77) and freshman Corinna Rees (81-80), playing as an individual are tied for 75th with 161. “I’m really proud of Whit,” said Hester. “She really struggled yesterday and played so much better today. Alex Lucy and Ashley all had a triple on the front side and they never really reovered. Top-ranked Duke leads the field with a second-round 284 for a 567 (283-284) followed by No. 3 Georgia at 574 (280-294). Seventh-ranked UCLA is third with a 576 (287-289), No. 17 Stanford is fourth with a 582 (291-291) and No. 15 Oklahoma State (299-288) and No. 11 Wake Forest (300-287) are tied for fifth place overall with 587. “We’re young and made some course management mistakes and before you know it you run into trouble,” said Hester. “We’re going to have to keep learning from these experiences and we’ll take some lumps along the way. Everyone had some good stuff in there we just have to have more than that. We want to fire a good round tomorrow and see what comes of it.” The Lady Razorbacks wrap up the first event of the year Sunday. For more information about Arkansas golf, log on to LADYBACKS.COM
