Lady'Backs look to regroup at State

STARKVILLE, Miss. – The University of Arkansas volleyball team is looking to regroup as they wrap up Southeastern Conference regular season action at Mississippi State Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Arkansas dropped to 16-11 overall and 9-10 in the SEC after a disappointing three-game loss at Ole Miss Friday. The Lady Razorbacks never go the offense started against the Rebels and that is something head coach Chris Poole would like to fix before Sunday’s match. “Every road match in the SEC is a tough one,” said Poole. “We certainly saw that at Mississippi Friday and we expect that Sunday at Mississippi State. We really never got into our offensive sync Friday and we need to control out side of the ball better if we want to be successful on Sunday.” The Lady’Backs downed Mississippi State in Fayetteville earlier this season in the first meeting between the programs this year. Senior Denitza Koleva and junior Jessica Dorrell each had 13 kills while the Lady’Backs out-blocked State seven to two and out-dug MSU 58 to 46 in the win. Koleva has been the team’s leader the entire season leading Arkansas in kills in the match 22 of 27 times this year. She entered the weekend hitting .260 with a team-best 418 kills and 4.31 kills per game this year. The match is the final regular season contest for the Lady Razorbacks and airs live in Fayetteville on KXUA, 88.3 FM. Arkansas returns to Fayetteville awaiting word of a possible NCAA Tournament bid via selection show Sunday, Nov. 26. For more information about Arkansas volleyball, log on to LADYBACKS.COM.
