Lady'Backs picked third in the west by SEC coaches

FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas was voted to finish third in the Western Division by the Southeastern Conference women’s tennis coaches, Lady Razorback head coach Michael Hegarty announced this week.

Returning most of the squad that finished SEC runner-up last season, Hegarty’s team was third behind defending division winner LSU and Ole Miss.

Florida was picked to win the Eastern Division and capture the overall title.

Arkansas begins the spring season next weekend, with SEC action opening the weekend of March 2.

In the West, Auburn was fourth with Miss State and Alabama tabbed ina fifth-place tie.

The preseason poll is voted on by the SEC Women’s Tennis Coaches and is based on a 6-5-4-3-2-1 count. The complete tally for the poll is below.
