Lady'Backs Set to Meet Tigers and Seminoles

FAYETTEVILLE – The University of Arkansas swimming and diving team continues Southeastern Conference competition at Auburn, Saturday, Jan. 28, at 11:00 a.m.

The Lady Razorbacks are also scheduled to meet Florida State in the double-dual meet. This meeting is the first between the two programs in school history.

Auburn leads the all-time series 1-0 after a victory in the 2003-04 season. The No. 2 Tigers are the defending SEC Champions.

Arkansas head coach Anne Goodman James said she understands the major challenge that the Lady’Backs face at Auburn.

“This will be our toughest competition of the season, which is saying a lot,” she said. “Florida State is also a very, very good team especially in the freestyle events. I think the match-up that I’m most looking forward to this weekend is in the sprint freestyle events as both Auburn and Florida State have some very, very quick sprinters. This will be a great opportunity for (freshman) Summer Jackson to race against them.”

Unfortunately, the Lady’Backs will be without sophomore diver Brieanne Kushner, who swept the diving events versus Florida, Jan. 20. Kushner is in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canadian, competing in the Canadian Senior National Diving Championships.
