LeGassey Leaps To SEC Accolades

SEC Indoor Championship Info

BIRMINGHAM – Three-time All-American high jumper Ken LeGassey was named the Southeastern Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, after leaping to a career best mark in the high jump at the Arkansas Qualifier last weekend. LeGassey’s clearance of 2.22m/7-3 1/4 crushed his previous indoor record by three centimeters.

The Woodlands, Texas native earned himself a place in the national rankings, moving up to No. 3 on the NCAA performance list and No. 2 among his conference peers.

LeGassey’s PR clearance also landed him a place in Arkansas history as the eighth-best high jumper to ever don the Razorback uniform. The defending SEC indoor champion will seek to earn his second-consecutive indoor title at this weekend’s contest.
