Lewis, Team USA Win Solheim Cup

ST. LEON-ROT. Germany — Former University of Arkansas All-American Stacy Lewis and Team USA rallied in the final round for a come-back win in the Solheim Cup in St. Leon-Rot, Germany, Sunday.

The victory ends a two-tournament drought for the Americans who picked up the 14.5-13.5 win.  Entering the final day, the European team was in the lead 10-6, but the United States won eight of 12 singles matches to regain the Solheim Cup.

These were the closet matches seen in the Solheim Cup history coming down to the final match of the day Paula Creamer and Sandra Gal. Creamer won the match 4&3 and earns the United States the final point needed to win the cup.

Lewis dropped her match to Anna Nordqvist of the European Team, 2&1, but Team USA was able to reclaim the cup from the Europeans who had won the last two events.
