FAYETTEVILLE — The 20th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team posted a final round 296 finishing third overall at the Mercedes Benz Intercollegiate at Cherokee Country Club in Knoxville, Tenn., Sunday.

"We struggled a bit early but really finished strong," said Arkansas head coach Shauna Estes. "Overall it was a good tournament for us. We were in a good position heading into the last day and were within striking distance. This is a tough stretch for us over the next couple of weeks but we get better every time we tee it up and that’s all you can ask for."

Arkansas was paced by senior Stacy Lewis who tied for third overall with a one-under 211 on the par 71, 5932-yard course. Lewis opened with a 69 followed by back-to-back 71s for 211.

"Stacy again put herself in a really good position to be able to win the tournament," said Estes.
