Lewis counts a 72

TORNIO, Italy — University of Arkansas junior golfer Stacy Lewis carded a first-round 72 and is tied for third place at the 11th World University Games in Tornio, Italy, Wednesday. Lewis trails the field’s leader, Anna Roscio of Italy, who turned in a three-under 69. Sara Brown of the United States, is second with a one-under 71, followed by the three-way tie with Lewis, Taipei’s Chih Lu Kwan and Japan’s Erina Hara. The team competition is based on individual results. The top two women’s scores count toward the team total and the USA is currently in first place with Brown’s 71 and Lewis’ 72 for a 143. Japan appears to be a close second at 144. Play continues throughout the week.
