Lewis finishes with 73 at JFOCC

FAYETTEVILLE – University of Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis finished tied for 51st at the 2007 Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic presented by Kroger Sunday. Lewis, playing in her second LPGA event of the year and making her second consecutive JFOCC appearance, finished with a final round 73 for a four-day 287 (71-72-71-73) at the Par-71, 6,428-yard Highland Meadows Golf Club in Sylvania, Ohio. "I know Stacy was disappointed with a couple of late bogeys," said Arkansas head coach Shauna Estes, "but her play this week was really solid. I’m very proud of her. She was well-prepared and pretty much executed her game plan for the week." Lewis had two birdies and four bogeys in her round making her two-over for the day but The Woodlands, Texas, native was the highest finishing amateur in the event. Si Re Pak became a five-time winner after a tough battle with Morgan Pressel. Pak ended her day with a 67 for a 267 just ahead of Pressel’s 270. Wendy Ward, Carri Wood, Laura Diaz and Laura Davies all tied for third with 276. Lewis rejoins several teammates including Lucy Nunn, Alex Schulte, Kristin Ingram and Whitney Sylvan at the 105th North and South Amateur Championship in Pinehurst, N.C. Play begins Monday and runs through the weekend with opening round stroke play followed by a match-play finish.
