Jump to results AUSTIN, Texas – The 24th-ranked University of Arkansas women’s golf team counted a final round 308 finishing fourth overall at the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Invitational in Austin, Texas, Sunday. Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis rebounded with a two-under 70 in the final round finishing second overall to lead the Lady Razorbacks. "Stacy played a great round of golf today," said assistant coach Shauna Estes. "She battled the win and just got better every day." The Woodlands, Texas, native opened with a 76 but shot par (72) on Saturday and finished with a 70 for 218 overall. Lewis started the day sixth but moved up finishing one stroke out of the lead. The tournament was won by Purdue’s Maria Hernandez with a 217 (77-70-70). Sophomore Lucy Nunn had been Arkansas’ front-runner for the opening rounds and she finished tied for eighth overall with a 224 (70-77-77). "Lucy was in a position to win the tournament," said Estes but a couple mistakes late in her round hurt. She had a good tournament and I think learned from her play." Junior Ashley Medders finished tied for 36th overall with a 238 (78-79-81), followed by Kristin Ingram who tied for 56th overall with a 243 (82-81-80). Corinna Rees, playing as an individual, finished tied for 61st with a 245 (89-79-77). Freshman Alex Schulte was unable to play Sunday after spraining her wrist Saturday. Purdue, the top-ranked team in the tournament at number 18, came from behind to win with a final round 292 (307-308-292) with a 907. Number 27 TCU finished second at 918 (306-309-303), followed by No. 39 Baylor with a 921 (317-306-298) and No. 24 Arkansas with 923 (306-309-308). "I’m a little disappointed to finish fourth," said Estes. "It hurt that we were a golfer down but we made a lot of mental mistakes and had some course management issues that we have to correct." Host Texas (303-304-318) and No. 45 SMU (313-308-304) tied for fifth overall with 925. Arkansas returns to action March 23-25, traveling to Athens, Ga., for the Liz Murphey Invitational.
