Lewis Lady'Backs advance at Southern Amateur

Jump to results FAYETTEVILLE — The University of Arkansas saw all three Lady Razorbacks advance through the first round of match play at the 92nd Women’s Southern Golf Association Amateur Championship in Birmingham, Ala., Tuesday. Defending NCAA Champion Stacy Lewis made quick work of Mina Hardin winning 6 and 5 in the Championship Flight. Lewis began play Monday firing a 67 in stroke play to lead the field. After making the 32-player cut, The Woodlands, Texas, native dispatched of Hardin in quick fashion. Lewis continues through the five-day event with her second round match-up still to be determined. Sophomore Lucy Nunn and freshman Alexandrea Schulte both qualified Monday with 78s and the duo stayed alive in first round First Flight action Tuesday. Nunn, a Lawton, Okla., native, notched a 3 and 2 win over Monica Von Glahn. Schulte, a Broken Arrow, Okla., native, defeated Janie Carpenter 1 up.
