Lewis looking to move on

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. – Former University of Arkansas women’s golfer Stacy Lewis is looking good to advance after two rounds of an LPGA Tour Sectional Qualifier in Rancho Mirage, Calif. Lewis, who finished third in the U.S. Women’s Open earlier this year, posted a 71 on the Dinah Shore Course at Mission Hills Country Club in the second round making the 36-hole cut at 141. The cut for the low 70 players and ties was 150 with 83 players moving on. This weekend’s play is the first of two sectional qualifiers in 2008. The second is Sept. 30-Oct. 3 at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla. Those qualifiers along with the California sectional advance to the LPGA Final Qualifying Tournament at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Fla., Dec. 3-7.
