Lewis posts 72 at 104th North and South Women's Amatuer

PINEHURST, N.C. – University of Arkansas junior golfer Stacy Lewis carded a first-round 72 and is tied for 11th at the 104th North and South Women’s Amateur Championship at Pinehurst Country Club in Pinehurst, N.C., Monday. Lewis is coming off her first LPGA event last week at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic and is playing at Pinehurst for the second time this year. The Woodlands, Texas, native played the No. 8 Course with even 32s on both the front and back nine and is tied with six other golfers on the par-72, 6,253-yard course. The top 63 golfers and last year’s winner will move on after two rounds of stroke play to match play Wednesday. The five-day, six-round match play concludes Sunday with a 36-hole final.
