Lewis posts 77 in second round

SYLVANIA, Ohio – University of Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis fired a second round six over par 77 at the rain-interrupted Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic in Sylvania, Ohio, Saturday. Lewis got through five holes of Friday’s second round before play was suspended. She resumed play Saturday carding a 77 in a round that featured four bogies and one double. She left the course Saturday morning tied for 91st with several players still to complete their second rounds. The top 72 players plus all ties will advance to the next round. Whether Lewis makes the cut or not, The Woodlands, Texas, native will have a short turn around as she is schedule to compete in the 104th North and South Women’s Amateur Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., next week. The eight-day event takes place on Course No. 2 and Course No. 8 with a practice round Monday followed by two stroke play qualifying rounds Tuesday and Wednesday.
