Lewis tied for medalist honors after second round

TORNIO, Italy — University of Arkansas junior Stacy Lewis carded a one-under 71 and is tied for the lead at the 11th World University Games in Torino, Italy. Lewis posted a second round 71 to go with Wednesday’s 72 for a 143. She is tied with France’s Morgane Bazin De Jessey (76-67) and Japan’s Erina Hara (72-71) for the lead. The United States is currently in second place with a 291 (143-148) trailing Japan who leads the field with a 290 (145-145). France is in third at 294 (154-140) followed by Italy (143-154=297), Chinese Taipei (146-153=295), Russia (153-148=301), Ireland (158-150=308), Thailand (158-151=309), Great Britain (153-159=312) and South Africa (163-152=315) to round out the top 10. The four-day event continues through Saturday. Lewis returns to campus for a quick turn around traveling with the No. 20 Lady Razorbacks to the Mason Rudolph Championship in Nashville, Tenn., Sept. 15-17.
