Lewis tied for ninth at U.S. Women's Open

EDINA, Minn. – Former University of Arkansas golfer Stacy Lewis carded a three-under 70 in second round action at the 2008 U.S. Women’s Open in Edina, Minn., Friday. Lewis was as low as four-under in the rain-delayed round to move into a tie for ninth place overall with a 143 (73-70). Her success on Friday came on the par fours which she played four-under. She was one-under on the par fours in the first round. Lewis is three under for the tournament and just three strokes behind leader Angela Park who is in the clubhouse with a140 after carding a six-under Friday. The top 65 players make the cut to the next round. Lewis made the cut in her first U.S. Women’s Open appearance last year and she is the second Arkansas women’s golfer to participate in the event.
