This is our final newsletter of the 2004-05 season for Arkansas Women’s Golf. It has been a great year and I would like to share with you just a few of our accomplishments. We tied or broke EVERY record in the 10 year history of the program:
First Ever NCAA Finals Appearance (Tied for 11th)
First Ever All American (Freshman Stacy Lewis, First Team)
First SEC individual Champion (Stacy again)
First SEC Freshman of Year (guess who?)
Best SEC Finish in school history (3rd)
Best NCAA and Regional Finish in school history (11th and 8th)
Lowest Round in school history (881 at Central District Invitational)
10 top 10 finishes in 12 tournaments
Tied record for lowest competitive round with 289 at Mercedes Invitational
Lowest two round tournament total with 602 at Jeannine McHaney
Lowest single season stroke average (303.46)
Lowest individual three round tournament score (214 Stacy Lewis at SEC Championship)
Lowest individual two round tournament score (144 Stacy Lewis at Jeannine McHaney)
Lowest individual single season stroke average (74.31 Stacy Lewis)
Two NGCA Academic All Scholars (Gena Johnson and Stacy Lewis)
First US Open Qualifier, Amanda McCurdy (Stacy Lewis still has a shot as she made it through a local qualifier and will compete in a regional qualifer June 14)
WOW! What a year. We are very proud of all of our players. We wish the best of luck to our exiting seniors, Gena Johnson and Lina Axelsson, and are excited to have a new face in Lucy Nunn in the fall.
