Lile Finishes Second at Red River Classic

DALLAS, Texas – The University of Arkansas’ Craig Lile finished in second place at the 2000 Taylor Made Red River Classic on Tuesday after shooting a final-round 71 to finish the tournament at 11-under par and one stroke behind tournament winner Hunter Mahan of Southern California. Despite Lile’s second-place finish, the Razorbacks struggled as a squad during the two-day competition and finished in last place.
Lile was in first place after the first day shooting a 66 and 68 in the first two rounds, but dropped to second after a third-round 71. Lile still held the tournament lead after a 33 on the front nine of Tuesday’s final round but shot a 38 on the back nine to finish in second place.
Beau Galyean finished tied for 57th place with rounds of 71, 73 and 78 for a 6-over par 222. Adam Wing placed tied for 74th (75-75-80-230), Seth Murphy finished 82nd (78-79-80-237) and Drew Higginbothom finished 83rd (82-76-81-239) to round out the Hogs’ line-up.
The Razorbacks will return to action in the Stephen F. Austin Invitational at Crown Colony in Lufkin, Texas, on Oct. 16-17.
