Lopez in Stage II of LPGA Q-School

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – University of Arkansas senior Gabriela Lopez faces her next challenge in the hopes of becoming a professional golfer at Stage II of the LPGA’s Qualifying School this weekend.

Lopez tees it up with 288 other LPGA hopefuls looking for a top 80 finish at Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Florida, to move on to the final stage and earn a Tour card. The last leg takes place Dec. 2-6, at LPGA International in Daytona Beach, Florida.

The 2015 NCAA individual runner-up, Lopez advanced through the Stage I qualifier before heading to Portland, Oregon, for the U.S. Women’s Amateur in August. She finished in sixth place overall shooting 69-71-72-71 at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, California, with her brother, Jose, on the bag.

Lopez is scheduled for a11:54 a.m. tee time beginning on the 10th hole. She is paired with Nicole Broch Larsen of Copenhagen, Denmark, and Ashleigh Albrecht of Murrieta, California.

Also hoping to move on is former Razorback All-American Emily Tubert. Tubert turned professional after graduation in 2015 and has played on the Symetra Tour this year. She opens place at 7:11 a.m. on the first tee playing with Weiwei Zhang of Haikou, China, and Allyssa Ferrell of Edgerton, Wisconsin.
